The NIC South Carolina team understands the importance of investing in the communities where we live and work. Our work of providing eGovernment solutions to businesses and citizens is just the beginning. We are active within community organizations and enjoy philanthropic ventures as a team.
Members of the NIC South Carolina team joined with Habitat for Humanity and volunteered to help with a warehouse project by unloading trucks of donated furniture. We also participated in helping to build a Habitat Home for a family with 3 young children by constructing the floor structure of the house.
NIC South Carolina volunteered at Harvest Hope Food Bank by sorting canned goods, boxed food, toiletries, and baby supplies. We have donated resources to provide holiday gifts for children through the SC Youth Advocacy Program. Many members of the NIC South Carolina staff have completed or volunteered at local races for charity including the Lexington Race for Hunger, Color Me Rad, Heart and Sole, and Bark to the Park.
Individuals have volunteered their time to read stories to and make crafts with underprivileged children, pass out flyers and grocery bags to collect food, and organize fundraisers for homeless and wounded veterans. In 2019, we donated over 1000 bottles of water to local homeless shelters.
Our volunteer efforts provide direct help to our community and promote awareness to local individuals and organizations in need. Through our involvement, we are helping support many great organizations that offer so much more than financial assistance to our community. In addition, community involvement gives the NIC South Carolina team a chance to build and strengthen relationships with co-workers outside of the typical work environment. The impact we have as a volunteer team brings new meaning to partnering with the state of South Carolina.
